Plan Your Family’s Perfect Spring Break In Moab With These Activities

Backpacking In Canyonlands National Park

Moab, Utah

If you are up for a bit of an adventure, Canyonlands National Park is the ideal Moab spot for some spring break backpacking. The NPS will let you backpack through The Needles, The Maze, and Island in the Sky. Just keep in mind this may involve a fair bit of planning, and you will need permits ahead of time. Believe me, though, it’s worth it!

Moab River Rafting

225 S Main Street, Moab, Utah 84532

For over two decades, Moab Adventure Center has been dedicated to helping spring break families get up close and personal with nature. They offer river rafting rides along the Colorado River. While you will definitely experience your share of thrills, these rides are pretty safe with options for rafters ages 5 and up. You can choose from half-day to two-day adventures, and they can even include a barbecue lunch!

Moab Arts Festival

375 S. Main #236, Moab, Utah 84532

Each Memorial Day weekend, Moab hosts its annual Arts Festival. Admission to this event is free for every visitor. I would still suggest bringing along your wallet, however, so you can purchase some amazing food as well as fabulous works from local artists. Additionally, they have live music, and kids’ activities happen all weekend long.

Wildflowers At Arches National Park

Moab, Utah

Did you know that Arches National Park always has wildflowers in bloom? From the geraniums of January to the sunflowers of August, there is always some color happening on the grounds! How many you can see throughout the season is dependent on the year, but most likely during spring break, you should be able to go for a hike and see some gorgeous Moab flowers! To plan your visit, head to the Arches webpage and check out their guide.

Moab Giants

If you are traveling with a dinosaur lover, stopping by the Moab Giants is a must! This experience lets you get up close and personal with life-sized dinosaurs. As you travel alongside the Dinosaur Trail, you will see over 100 creatures, plus you’ll catch some pretty amazing views of the surrounding National Parks! They have a few other attractions, including dig-it-out sites, a playground, an aquarium, and a theater.
