When you are heading out for your Moab adventure, you need a spot that will be great for the entire family! Let’s face it. There’s nothing worse than getting a mile into a hike and realizing your child can’t take another step. Thankfully, there are tons of kid-friendly hikes in Moab that are fantastic for hikers of all levels! As a Moab family photographer, I get to spend a lot of time traveling around the area and chatting with parents. Here are the hikes I always recommend!

6 Beautiful And Fun Kid-Friendly Hikes In Moab For Your Family To Enjoy 

Corona Arch Hike

Utah Highway 297, Moab, Utah 84532

Corona Arch Hike is a Moab 3-mile-long out-and-back that can be a little challenging in parts but is still kid-friendly. While it remains fairly flat, there’s not a ton of shade. The trick is to pack plenty of water and head out during the cooler parts of the day. If you stick with it, you’ll be rewarded with fabulous views of the namesake red arch!

Balanced Rock Hike

Moab, Utah 84532

Balanced Rock is located within Arches National Park. This trail is shorter, covering a mere 0.3 miles, and the path is very easy for hikers of all ages. You won’t have to journey far to see the huge boulder that defies gravity as it balances on top of a pinnacle! This is the perfect hike to do either by itself or alongside other trails. 

Sand Dune Arch Hike

Moab, Utah 84532

If you need another kid-friendly hike to add while you are in Moab at Arches, head over to the Sand Dune Arch Hike. Just be prepared to get a little messy! This hike will take you through 0.5 miles into soft, fine sand. Your kids can spend some time playing in the dunes and jumping across the rocks before it’s time to head out!

Grandview Point Hike

Moab, Utah 84532

Grandview Point Hike located in the Canyonlands National Park of Moab offers your family 2 miles of easy kid-friendly trail. As you wander across the flat land, you are going to get one of the best views around the Island in the Sky area. The trail will be marked by cairns, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost. 

Mesa Arch Hike

Moab, Utah 84532

Mesa Arch Hike is another Canyonlands adventure. This trail lasts for 0.5 miles and is a great option for every hiker. There are several areas near the end that can be a little steep. Once you get below the arch, be sure to keep an eye on your kiddos so they don’t trip!

Moab can be the ideal spot for a family hike! Just please be sure to be prepared. Check the temps, pack lots of water and some snacks, and know the signs of heat exhaustion. As long as you’re safe, you are going to get some pretty unforgettable views on these kid-friendly hikes in Moab
