While any time of year is great for a sunrise wedding, I always suggest it for summer. This time helps you avoid a lot of the typical Moab crowds. Throughout the summer, the parks fill up with tourists excited to cross this spot off their bucket list. While you’ll still see some visitors, a sunrise ceremony will give you access to the park before most people are up and moving. It also lets you skip the brutal heat you tend to see throughout the day.
If you do decide to have a sunrise wedding in the spring or fall, I would encourage you to look at the weather ahead of time and make sure you are ready for chilly temps. Nonetheless, I think you’ll be really happy with your wedding date! Oh, and because it can get pretty frigid, I would only suggest a winter sunrise if you really like the cold. Even then, be prepared with lots of layers!

Sand Dune Arch Trail
Arches National Park
If you do prefer a National Park wedding, the Sand Dune Arch Trail in Arches is a fabulous Moab sunrise backdrop for your elopement. The hike is extremely easy, covering only 0.4 miles with no elevation. I adore the colors here as the sun comes up!
La Sal Mountains Viewpoint
Arches National Park
Also located in the midst of Arches, La Sal Mountains Viewpoint is nestled near the entrance and gives you breathtaking views of the iconic red rocks. As the light starts to flood in, you’ll catch views of The Windows and Balanced Rock.
Corona Arch Trail
Moab, Utah
Corona Arch Trail is a site located inside the Bureau of Land Management. I love this spot for a sunrise elopement because it feels similar to Arches, but you don’t get the same number of Moab tourists. Just be sure to come caffeinated. This trail features a 3-mile round-trip hike that can be a little challenging!
Windows Loop and Turret Arch Trail
Arches National Park
I don’t know if there is a more iconic site than the Windows in Arches. With the Windows Loop and Turret Arch Trail, you will travel a mile total and get one of the best views of the double windows. Just wait until you see the light flooding through the openings!
