From the moment you book this spot for your wedding all the way through your getaway ride, this venue is going to be there to make sure you can have the best day ever! As a Moab wedding photographer, I love getting to work with couples to ensure they can have a day custom-made to them. Here’s why I always recommend The Red Earth Venue

About The Red Earth Venue

545 SR 313 Moab, Utah 84532

The Red Earth Venue was started by Angela and Brian Hays to make sure couples could have the right spot for their nature-fueled weddings. Angela fell in love with the landscape of Moab from an early age. After spending her childhood camping on the grounds, she became a park ranger at Arches and Canyonlands before deciding she wanted to give people a new way to interact with the town. And thus, The Red Earth Venue was born! The venue opened in 2022 and has been writing unforgettable love stories ever since.

Details of the Grounds

The Red Earth Venue offers two separate wedding spaces across its 17 acres. Because they are located ¼ m from each other, you will not be able to see the other site throughout your wedding. With this option, you will have all the attention on you throughout your day!

Over at The Desert Platform Site, you will have a completely open field with a 20×20 platform perfect for exchanging vows. The area is surrounded by 5,000 square feet that you can use however you wish. Your guests will easily be able to access the site via dirt road. Some couples choose to rent this site in addition to The Glass Venue to ensure their day can be entirely private.

The Glass Venue is the newest spot offered by the venue, and it has quickly become the favorite! This is an indoor/outdoor space that shows off the red rocks no matter where you are! The interior offers 1,800 square feet of climate-controlled space. Floor-to-ceiling windows show off the surrounding nature while the wooden cathedral ceiling adds a bit of rustic sophistication. Most couples choose to exchange their vows outside on the Iron Arches patio before their guests go to enjoy drinks on the brick patio in front of the building. From there, your reception can take place inside. The Red Earth Venue can accommodate up to 200 guests.

The Desert Ceremony Platform

In addition to the pavilion, Red Earth offers a wooden ceremony platform positioned to highlight the desert backdrop.

The platform creates a defined ceremony space while still keeping the landscape front and center. It is located approximately a quarter mile from the pavilion site. Guests who prefer not to walk can access the platform area by vehicle, which is helpful for elderly guests or those with mobility concerns.

Some couples use the platform for the ceremony and return to the pavilion for dinner and dancing. Others choose to host their ceremony closer to the pavilion itself. The property’s 17 acres allow for flexibility.

Guest Capacity

Red Earth Venue can accommodate up to 120 guests for larger celebrations.

The pavilion site supports seated dinners for up to approximately 150 guests depending on layout, though the included furniture collection is designed for up to 120.

For smaller celebrations or elopement-style gatherings, the venue also accommodates intimate groups. Parking on-site can support up to approximately 50 vehicles.

If you are planning over 120 guests, confirm layout options directly with the venue to ensure your design and rental plan support your count.

What Is Included

One of the benefits of Red Earth is that you are not starting from scratch.

Included with most pavilion site rentals are:

  • 9-foot custom wood farm tables
  • Wood dining chairs
  • Custom-built cocktail tables
  • Wood ceremony benches
  • Welcome table
  • Cake table and sweetheart table
  • Fire pits
  • Easels
  • Flameless candle lighting
  • Corn hole
  • Select lounge furniture

The venue also includes two ADA-compliant restrooms, a prep kitchen for catering, lighting, power access, and on-site parking.

While furniture is included, linens, specialty decor, additional lighting, and styling elements typically need to be brought in through rental vendors.

Rental Period and Timeline

Red Earth books only one wedding per day.

The standard rental window is 12 hours, typically from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. An additional hour can be added if desired.

That extended rental period makes a significant difference in how the day feels. You have time for vendor setup, relaxed getting-ready coverage, a ceremony that is not rushed, and an evening celebration that unfolds naturally.

You are not squeezed into a six-hour block.

Pricing

Wedding investment at Red Earth generally starts around $5,000 for venue rental, with pricing varying based on date, site selection, and add-ons.

Platform-only rentals and larger pavilion rentals may be priced differently depending on season and day of the week.

Because pricing structures can change, the most accurate approach is to request a custom quote directly from the venue.

Accessibility

The pavilion site includes ADA-compliant restrooms and accessible indoor areas.

The ceremony platform is accessible by vehicle if needed, though some areas of the property include natural desert terrain. If you have guests with mobility concerns, thoughtful layout planning is important.

Airports and Travel

Moab is more accessible than many couples expect:

The closest airport is Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY), often referred to as Moab’s regional airport. It is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Moab.

Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) in Colorado is another popular option and offers a broader range of flight routes.

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) provides the most flight availability and is about a four-hour drive from Moab.

Because Red Earth is located just 10–15 minutes outside of town, guest transportation is relatively simple.

Pets

Red Earth is pet-friendly. One dog is typically included in your rental, with an additional fee for more than one. Dogs must remain leashed during the event. For couples who want their dog present for the ceremony or portraits, this flexibility is a meaningful benefit.

Catering, Alcohol, and Vendors

Red Earth does not provide in-house catering or alcohol service.

Couples are required to hire licensed caterers and insured bartenders. Alcohol must be served by a licensed and insured professional, and event insurance is required.

There are no food or beverage minimums, which allows you to build a celebration that aligns with your priorities rather than a preset package.

Recommended Rentals and Event Planners

Working with vendors who already know the property can simplify logistics, especially in a desert environment.
